Pelican Publications Acquires The Smart Book

Lakewood, CO (PRWEB) October 23, 2012

Pelican announces the acquisition of The Smart Book directory and http://www.thesmartbook.com website from Kelly Roberts.

Ms. Roberts founded The Smart Book in 2006 as a home and garden directory for Boulder County, Colorado. Because The Smart Book promotes sustainability, Ms. Roberts announced plans in December 2009 “to take The Smart Book paperless” because she felt that “…being virtual, can do ever more for the businesses we represent”. Since the printing of the 2009-2010 directory, The Smart Book has been paperless and distributed electronically through thesmartbook.com.

In announcing the acquisition of The Smart Book, Pelican co-publisher Nick Rhodes stated, “Kelly’website thesmartbook.com is a home and garden directory that electronically distributes coupons for Boulder County businesses. Our website http://www.livingindenver.co supplements and distributes Pelican’s newcomer and lifestyle magazines covering the Denver area. We think that it is a natural for us to expand the thesmartbook.com platform to profile and distribute coupons for businesses throughout the entire Denver area with links from our livingindenver.co website.”
